Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Applied Genie handles information through its applications for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, including optional online features. It applies to current Applied Genie apps and future apps unless an app provides a separate privacy notice.

1. Our approach to privacy

Applied Genie does not directly collect personal information from users of its apps, maintain user profiles, use advertising trackers, or collect app usage analytics. Our apps do not require you to provide personal details to Applied Genie to use their core features.

Some optional functions involve third-party services, as explained below. A service receiving content to perform a user-requested operation is different from Applied Genie maintaining a database of its users, but this transmission still matters for privacy.

2. Files and information stored on your device

Our apps may work with documents, ebooks, text, images, audio, projects, settings, and other files. Content processed locally remains on your device or in the storage location you choose; Applied Genie does not receive that locally processed content. If you choose to save files through iCloud or another storage provider, that provider's privacy practices apply.

3. Optional AI translation and online processing

When you choose an online AI translation feature, the text or other content necessary for the requested translation is transmitted to an external processing service. Applied Genie does not collect that content into its own user database. Content sent for translation may nevertheless include personal or sensitive information if you have included it in the text.

The external service may process and retain submitted content and related technical information according to its own practices and the applicable service arrangement. We do not represent that translation content is anonymous, that third-party systems never retain it, or that it cannot contain personal information. Avoid using online translation for confidential or sensitive content unless you are comfortable with that transmission.

Features that run entirely on-device do not send their working content to an AI translation service.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

Apple handles payments, billing information, and subscription management for purchases made through the App Store. Our apps may check purchase or subscription entitlement status to enable paid features. Applied Genie does not collect payment-card information. 5. Other third-party services

Apple and other service providers may process information when you choose to use App Store purchases, iCloud, file storage, or optional online features. The information processed depends on the feature and provider. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics services in our apps at this time.

6. Retention and deletion

Because Applied Genie does not directly collect personal information from app usage, there is no Applied Genie app-user profile or personal-information database to delete. You can manage or delete your locally saved files through the app, device, or storage provider, as applicable. Copies held in backups or external storage may need to be deleted separately.

Content transmitted to an online translation provider may be subject to that provider's retention and deletion policies. Applied Genie cannot guarantee immediate deletion from an external provider's systems.

7. Privacy choices

You can choose not to use optional online translation or other online processing features. You can manage device permissions and storage settings through your device, and manage subscriptions in your Apple Account. For privacy questions, use our contact form.

8. Contacting us directly

If you voluntarily contact Applied Genie through our website, we receive the information you choose to send so we can respond. This is separate from the data practices of our apps. Communications may be retained as needed to handle your inquiry; you may request deletion of correspondence that we control, subject to applicable obligations.

9. Children's privacy

Applied Genie does not knowingly collect personal information from children through its apps. Please contact us if you have a concern involving a child's information submitted through an optional online feature or directly to us.

10. Security

We aim to minimize information transmitted from our apps. Online transmission and third-party processing have inherent risks, and no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy if our apps or data practices change. The effective date above will reflect updates. If a future app collects information beyond what this policy describes, we will update the policy and any applicable app-specific disclosures.
