Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Applied Genie handles information when you use Daisuki Manga, including its AI Translation features.
1. Content you open in Daisuki Manga
Daisuki Manga lets you open and work with comics, manga, EPUB books, and related documents. Applied Genie does not claim ownership of your documents or their contents.
For normal comic and manga AI Translation, optical character recognition, page analysis, and text-region detection are performed locally on your device. Daisuki Manga sends recognized text and information needed to translate that text, rather than uploading the complete comic or manga page solely for normal AI Translation.
For EPUB translation, readable text extracted from the EPUB may be sent for translation. Images and unrelated EPUB resources are not sent merely to translate the book's text.
2. Information used for AI Translation
An AI Translation request may include:
- Text to be translated
- Source and target language information
- Anonymous document and page or section identifiers used for caching and usage accounting
- Translation request metadata needed to provide the service
- Subscription product and entitlement information needed to verify access
3. AI translation provider
Daisuki Manga uses the OpenAI API to provide AI-powered translation. Text submitted for translation may therefore be processed by OpenAI in order to generate the requested translation. OpenAI's handling of API data is governed by its applicable policies and service terms.
Applied Genie does not use the contents of your translated documents to build advertising profiles, and does not sell translated content or personal information to advertisers.
4. Subscription verification and usage limits
Daisuki Manga uses Apple's StoreKit system for AI Translation subscriptions. Applied Genie's server may process and store limited information required to verify an active subscription and enforce translation allowances, including:
- StoreKit product identifier
- Apple original transaction identifier
- Subscription status and expiration date
- Anonymous document identifiers
- Anonymous page or translation-unit identifiers
- Translation usage counts for the current subscription period
Applied Genie does not receive your Apple ID password or full payment-card information. Subscription billing is processed by Apple.
5. Translation allowances
Daisuki Manga currently offers these AI Translation subscriptions:
- Comic Translation: up to 5,000 new comic or manga translation pages per subscription period.
- EPUB + Comic Translation: up to 10,000 new translation pages or translation units per subscription period across supported EPUB, manga, and comic content.
Translation allowances reset automatically when a successfully renewed subscription begins a new subscription period. Previously translated content that remains available in the local translation cache does not consume the allowance again merely because it is viewed again.
6. Translation cache
Daisuki Manga may store generated translations locally in a persistent cache. If a translation remains cached, it may continue to be displayed even after a subscription expires, is canceled, or reaches its translation allowance.
An active subscription and available translation allowance may still be required to translate uncached content, create a translation for a different language pair, request a new translation, or recreate a translation after cached data has been removed.
Applied Genie cannot guarantee permanent retention of locally cached translations. Cached data may be lost if application data is removed, the app is deleted, the operating system removes cached data, or the underlying document changes in a way that invalidates the cache.
7. iCloud
Daisuki Manga may use Apple's iCloud services to synchronize supported library metadata and reading progress between your devices. Information stored through iCloud is handled through your Apple account and Apple's services and is also subject to Apple's privacy practices.
8. Data sale and advertising
Applied Genie does not sell or rent personal information collected through Daisuki Manga. Daisuki Manga is not designed to build advertising profiles from the comics, manga, EPUB books, or translations you use with the app.
9. Security
Applied Genie uses reasonable technical measures intended to protect information transmitted between Daisuki Manga and its services. No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Children's privacy
Daisuki Manga is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Users should avoid submitting unnecessary personally identifying or sensitive information as translation content.
11. Changes to this policy
Applied Genie may update this Privacy Policy when Daisuki Manga or its services change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy changes.
12. Contact
For privacy or support questions, contact Applied Genie through the Support link associated with Daisuki Manga on the Apple App Store.
